Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the RouteWatch mobile application and associated services operated by Digital Synn Limited ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use RouteWatch. By using the app, you confirm you meet this requirement. RouteWatch is licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not use the app or its underlying API to build a competing product, or to scrape, replicate, or redistribute route data or accuracy statistics.
Account obligations
- Keep your password secure and do not share it. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits or restrictions is not permitted.
- Provide accurate information when registering. Do not impersonate any person or organisation.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Scrape, crawl, or programmatically access the RouteWatch API beyond what the official app requires, except as expressly permitted for software interoperability under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (CDPA).
- Use automated tools to submit requests at a rate that would degrade service for other users.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute RouteWatch data or derived products.
- Attempt to reverse engineer any part of the service except where permitted by the CDPA.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
Pro subscription
RouteWatch Pro is an optional paid tier providing push disruption alerts for saved routes, home-screen widgets, and group route sharing. Pro is billed via Apple In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing — pricing and billing frequency are shown before you subscribe.
- Cancellation: cancel at any time via your Apple or Google subscription settings. Access continues until the end of your paid period.
- Refunds: handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
- Price changes: we'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any price increase, via email and in-app notification.
Accuracy disclaimer
Route and disruption data is sourced from third-party feeds including National Rail Darwin, Transport for London, National Highways, TomTom, Google, CycleStreets, and the Met Office. We make reasonable efforts to present this data accurately and promptly, but we cannot guarantee its correctness or timeliness. Data feeds may be delayed, incomplete, or incorrect.
Do not rely on RouteWatch for safety-critical decisions. Always follow official signage, travel operator announcements, and your own judgement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the total fees you have paid to us (not to Apple or Google) in the 12 months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including lost journeys, missed connections, or decisions made in reliance on route data.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under UK consumer protection law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection rules in your jurisdiction give you additional rights.
Termination
- By us: we may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, with notice where reasonably practicable. We may terminate immediately for serious breaches such as abuse, illegal activity, or systematic scraping.
- By you: delete your account at any time from the app's Account settings. This triggers our data-deletion pipeline (see Privacy Policy).
Changes to these terms
We will give you at least 30 days' notice of material changes to these terms, via email and in-app notification. Continued use of RouteWatch after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before the changes take effect.
